More and more of our customers are using steel counter plates as counter plates. The reason for this is that the demands on functionality and appearance of packaging blanks are constantly increasing. With Marbach steel counter plates, visual as well as functional creasing requirements are optimally met.
A steel counter plate is a steel counter plate with milled creasing channels. Compared to creasing matrixes or rillma, it is characterized by easy handling and has a very long service life.
Bernhard Reisser, industry manager at Marbach: “The use of steel counter plates has changed considerably in recent years. In the past, they were mostly only used for long print runs. This is no longer the case. Due to the increased demands of our customers, the advantages of steel counter plates are increasingly being used for shorter print runs as well. Why is that? Only with a steel counter plate can you achieve creasing results without any marks, resulting in packaging that looks very nice at the point of sale. In addition, the creasing is highly functional in the packaging process. And the high precision of a steel counter plate also helps to achieve shorter set-up times and faster machine speeds.”
Another advantage of the steel counter plate technology: the integration of finishing techniques, such as reverse-side scoring and embossing of braille, is very easy to implement.
