Marbach regularly organizes what has become known as the Marbach Cup. At this football tournament, employees of the various Marbach subsidiaries from all over the world meet at different locations to test their football skills. In addition to the sporting part, there is always a leisure activity with sightseeing, and all in a relaxed get-together atmosphere. The Marbach Cup has existed now for more than a decade and the participants always look forward to meeting their colleagues from other countries. This year The Marbach Cup took place from July 6 to 8 in Russia. The venue was at the Marbach franchise partner Raster in Obninsk.
Managing Director Peter Marbach: "The topic of networking is on everyone's lips these days. We at Marbach have been doing this for a very long time. At the football tournaments, which take place every other year, the participants not only have a lot of fun, but have a great opportunity to get to know their colleagues from other subsidiaries in person. Getting to know colleagues not merely from emails or from the telephone, but more personally, makes later work all the more pleasant. In addition, the shared experiences connect and strengthen the sense of unity. Because we are a group, and that makes us strong as a company."
Eight teams competed in this year's Marbach Cup. Teams with employees from the German branches - Heilbronn, Bünde and Geyer - as well as from the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania and of course the hosts from Russia were present too. This year there was something very special: Raster has its own football pitch with two fields on the company grounds where the matches were played. Winner of The Marbach Cup this year was the team from Poland, followed by Czech Republic and Russia. After the tournament all participants were exhausted, but happy. At the award ceremony that followed, the winning teams received a trophy and all celebrated the Marbach Cup together.
A moderator guided the teams through the evening, during which - in addition to Russian delicacies - various games and activities were offered. A singer provided the musical entertainment. The highlight of the evening was the World Cup quarter-final match between Russia and Croatia. After an exciting, but for the hosts also disappointing, penalty shoot-out, all teams said goodbye to each other and headed to their hotels.
Peter Marbach: "We would like to thank this year's organizer, our franchise partner Raster Technology in Russia. The tournament and the leisure program were well organized and the Marbach Cup will be remembered by all participants as an unforgettable event."
After the Marbach Cup also means before the Marbach Cup. So the participants are already looking forward to the next Marbach tournament in Romania.
