Marbach Werkzeugbau looks back over an eventful year 2019. The globally active company has engaged with numerous exciting projects in the past year and presented its extensive portfolio in the field of thermoforming technology at various plastics trade fairs worldwide.
Packaging. Performance. You.
Marketing Manager Tina Dost: "The year 2019 was again a very exciting one for us. It was characterized above all by the world's most important plastics trade fair, K 2019 in Duesseldorf. Here we demonstrated for visitors our product developments designed for maximum performance. Both analog and digital. But of course that wasn't all! There were many other innovations during the course of the year."
Personnel changes
Marbach Werkzeugbau has a new managing director since 01.09.2019. Markus Britsch (45) is the new man at the head of Marbach Werkzeugbau. He is an industrial engineer and has been working in the packaging industry for more than 10 years. Peter Marbach: "We are very happy that with Mr. Britsch we have been able to win an industry insider who will successfully lead our Werkzeugbau into the future".
Industry 4.0 and digitalization
Marbach takes a big step into the digital future with its innovations CONNECT|M and CONNECT|AR.
CONNECT|M is a technology that intelligently connects the thermoforming tool, Marbach and the customer. It makes tools speak. Through the use of special sensors in the mold and the integration of cloud services, important process data are analyzed and monitored during the thermoforming process.
The advantages of CONNECT|M for the user: Start-up and tool change are very efficient, since tool parallelism can be set up very quickly. Long machine downtimes are avoided and productivity increased. The wear and tear on tools can be reduced by optimum adjustment and monitoring of parallelism, ensuring that the tool's service life is increased and costs are saved.
Within the framework of CONNECT|AR (Augmented Reality), Marbach is part of a digital customer support project. Participants in this project are machine manufacturers, the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Central Europe and manufacturers of thermoformed end products. The aim of the project is to dive into a new dimension of customer support with the help of AR glasses.
Dost continues: "Both these new products ensure maximum performance for our customers in the production of plastic packaging".
K fair in Düsseldorf
The absolute highlight of the year for Marbach was the K fair in Düsseldorf. Marbach was able to welcome almost 400 visitors to its stand over the 8 days of the fair. Under the motto "security for the future" Marbach presented not only its newest tool technologies, but above all the results from its projects on the topics industry 4.0 and digitalization.
Dost: "Visitor interest in our new technology CONNECT|M and the project CONNECT|AR was incredible. We were even able to sell our first CONNECT|M tool at the fair. Further project inquiries came directly after the fair and are now in our pipeline."
Employee party
In the summer Marbach organized its big employee party. For many years The Family Day has been a highlight event. It takes place every 2-3 years at all Marbach locations worldwide. At the Family Day 2019 in Heilbronn 1,200 visitors set a new visitors record. With this event Marbach wishes to say big THANK YOU to all its employees for their hard work. And does this with something very special: managers serve the workforce.
Portfolio expansion
Since 2019, Marbach has been offering its customers numerous packaging services with its new range of services. Just in time for the K trade fair in October, Marbach presented its new small-parts catalog. Customers will find all useful tools, materials and aids for their daily needs in this catalogue.
Tina Dost: "An eventful year is coming to an end. We are already looking forward to an equally exciting year 2020, with lots of news to help achieve maximum performance for our customers. Many thanks to all our business partners for their powerful collaboration."
