Each year Marbach offers apprenticeships to more than 15 young people. Altogether there are more than 50 apprentices at various stages of training. There are many different professions beginning with "standard professions" such as industrial clerk (m/f/d) or toolmaker (m/f/d). But there are also less known professions. One of these is the packaging technician (m/f/d).
Marbach manufactures cutting-dies for packaging. Well-trained specialists are therefore needed for customer consultation and to manufacture optimized tools based on customer requirements. This is where the packaging technician comes in.
The apprenticeship as packaging technician takes 3 years. This happens either at Marbach in Heilbronn or at Geyer, and is supplemented by a several-week placement in a cooperating company. Theoretical knowledge is taught to the apprentice in lesson blocks at a cooperating professional school. After comprehensive basic metal training with turning, milling and drilling, a run-through of the most important departments of a cutting-die manufacturer follows. The apprentice is involved in the complete manufacturing process of a cutting-die, from the creation of technical drawings to tool assembly and customer service.
Head of training Nicole Waczowicz: "The apprenticeship as a packaging technician is very diverse and versatile, because one accompanies the complete manufacturing process of a cutting-die. Even during their apprenticeship, our apprentices assume responsibility and work on real customer orders. After the apprenticeship, and depending on their needs and talents, the packaging technician can work in CAD, installation or sales and customer service,
Each year Marbach trains 2-3 young people as packaging technicians.
