Marbach has shown strong efforts for international growth in recent years. A production facility in the USA was followed by another one in Malaysia. The Heilbronn-based company is now planning to strengthen its activities in Asia and will therefore expand further in 2018.
On December 19, 2017 the contract for a joint venture with the die-cutting machine manufacturer Masterwork Machinery Co. Ltd. was signed in Tianjin, China. For this purpose, the company owner Peter Marbach and Bernd Klenk, managing director of Marbach Die-Cutting Technology travelled to China together. There they met with a large delegation of Masterwork around their Chairman Ms. Li Li.
Under the name Marbach Masterwork (Tianjin) Die Cutting Tools Co. Ltd. the two companies are planning a joint venture. It will concentrate on the production of cutting dies for the Chinese packaging market. Marbach Automation & Service will supply the appropriate machines for the new Marbach production facility. Peter Marbach: "China is a very interesting market for us. With Masterwork we have the optimal partner on our side. Together we have the concentrated competence in die-cutting."
Planned start of production is in summer 2018. The operations in Tianjin will include sales and production. The focus will be on flat cutting-dies for the folding carton and tobacco packaging industry. Peter Marbach: "The preparations have been going on for several months. We're looking forward to getting started right now."
