Marbach has been using for some time now a new rubber for rubbering cutting-dies. The name of this high-performance material is flexpower. Certified by ISEGA for use in the food industry, this rubber offers numerous advantages to operators. Marbach uses flexpower in corrugated board tools (both flat and rotary) and also sells it as raw material.
Ingo Graham, Product Manager at Marbach: "flexpower is an absolutely high-performance rubber. Tools that are rubbered with flexpower ensure maximum performance when applied to die-cutting packaging. Because of its structure and special properties, flexpower is particularly productive."
flexpower is characterized by high compression, its extremely fast rebound elasticity and endurance. The Marbach rubber is also tear-resistant and has low abrasive properties. This makes it very durable. Its unique composition, means it can also be used for die-cutting food packaging without any concerns.
Graham continues: "Due to its structure, flexpower can be very highly compressed. With significantly stronger compression than conventional rubbering. This feature has very positive effects on the quality of die-cutting. During rotary die-cutting, its high rebound elasticity means that waste is ejected quickly and efficiently – ensuring waste-free operation and maximum machine speeds. In the case of flat die-cutting, the high rebound elasticity also ensures a smooth production process and stable machine operation at fast and long-term jobs. In addition, it is even cheaper than conventional materials available on the market."
flexpower is available in two different hardnesses – "hard" or "soft" - to suit particular requirements. The portfolio has also been expanded to include form parts, benefiting all users who do not own a waterjet machine. The form parts are available for flat dies in strips with and without spacers to the cutting rule, for rotary dies as transport strip, ejection-blocks, as well as strip goods to be cut to length.
