Marbach looks back on an eventful 2018. The globally active company has not only attracted attention with its numerous innovations, but also with investment in a newly founded joint venture in China and the opening of the Marbach Academy.
Packaging. Performance. You.
Marketing Manager Tina Dost: "2018 was again very exciting for us. We worked on some product developments and successfully launched them on the market. Our customers are the ones who benefit from this, because they can further increase the performance of their packaging production. In addition, there were many other highlights such as the opening of the Marbach Academy, the successful participation in various trade fairs and the launch of our Marbach-Masterwork-Joint Ventures in China."
New training center
The first training courses at the Marbach Academy started in March 2018. Together with internal classes, more than 220 people received further training. Participants came from many technical schools and well-known cardboard manufacturers. The feedback from the participants was consistently positive. Marbach will continue along this path and has already developed a comprehensive training program for its customers in 2019. The training courses are characterized above all by their high practical relevance and small-group training.
Production in China
The joint venture between Marbach and the Chinese machine manufacturer Masterwork was launched in July. The target group in the Chinese market are primarily customers from the paperboard packaging and cigarette sectors. Accordingly, Marbach in China offers a portfolio specially adapted to the needs of Chinese customers. With success. The first few months have started well and Marbach looks forward to the further successful development of its new production facility in the coming year.
Global success
With more than 20 subsidiaries worldwide, Marbach is on course for further success. In 2018, the sales development level in Europe was good. In addition to the Marbach subsidiaries in Eastern Europe, the subsidiaries in Malaysia and the USA in particular were on a strong growth course. This confirms the sense of Marbach's strategy of gradually expanding its business activities in other countries in the future. The joint venture established in China in 2018 is the next link in this chain. More will follow.
Trade fairs and events
In 2018, Marbach was once again on the road at trade fairs all over the world. Expoprint in Brazil, Hispack in Barcelona, Scanpack in Gothenburg or Fachpack in Nuremberg. Marbach presented its latest products for die-cutting, finishing, stripping and blanking of packaging. With outstanding success. Customers were able to take away many ideas on how they can further increase productivity in their production.
Products Die-Cutting Technology
As an innovative company, Marbach once again presented numerous solutions for increasing the performance of its customers in 2018.
The subject of digital manufacturing is becoming more and more important for the Heilbronn-based tool manufacturer. With digital zone levelling Marbach customers save make-ready times with every single customer order. The new, digitally produced polymar embossing-die is considerably cheaper than conventional brass embossings, making embossing profitable even for small runs. In addition, Marbach equips various tools with digitally produced components. These are currently used, for example, for universal sheet delivery or special rotary cutting-dies for Mitsubishi machines.
There were also many product innovation highlights. Tina Dost: "With our platen cleaning device mplaten|cleaner as well as our calibration tool package customers can optimize their die-cutting processes and can significantly increase their productivity. The height-adjustable anvil, provides shorter make-ready times and highly functional opening cutting mechanisms. With embossing-dies, the embossing register system IV (PES IV) allows the embossing to be quickly and easily set to the print image. For fast make-ready times and good embossing results. With the marbanick|2 handheld device, our customers can quickly and easily insert waste nicks into their cutting rules. All our innovations have one thing in common: they ensure performance for our customers."
New ERP system
In 2018, Marbach worked with a lot of energy on preparing the implementation of the new ERP system, which is to take place in 2019 as part of the ONE|M project. All processes will be examined, questioned and optimized so that Marbach will be even more efficient in the future.
Tina Dost: "An eventful year is drawing to an end. We are already looking forward to an equally exciting year in 2019. With a new ERP system. Many new products. And maximum performance. A big thank you to all our business partners for your amazing partnership."
